When to Travel

The Greek islands are highly seasonal. The best time to visit is between June and September, with sunshine-filled days and minimal rainfall. Many islands shut down from November thru April.

Day 1

Welcome to Greece! Spend a few nights in Athens exploring the temples and ruins of Greece’s mesmerizing capital, or head directly to the islands. We’ll fly you from Athens to heavenly Santorini (a quick 45-minute flight), trimmed by jagged, bright cliffs facing a deep blue slice of sea. Enjoy a VIP tasting at Venetsanos Winery, overlooking the island’s iconic caldera, explore the island’s cobbled lanes and walking paths, and settle into the hotel over cocktails with a view.

Day 2

Start today by hiking to Santorini’s most iconic city, Oia, with its famously white-washed homes and vibrant blue rooftops. Then, board the ferry to the picturesque island of Folegandros, home to rugged landscapes, secluded coves and romantic sunsets. Settle into Chora—known for its colorful fishing boats, relaxed atmosphere, and seclusion from tourists—and soak up Aegean views from a new and peaceful vantage, far from the crowds.

Day 3

Today is about connection to the flavors of Folegandros and the Greek Islands. Begin by getting your body moving with a beachside morning workout. Then, join up with local fisherman to choose a fresh catch for lunch, which you’ll savor after a hike to the beach and dip in the ocean. Later today, head back into Chora for dinner and a cocktail.

Day 4

Spend the day at sea aboard a private yacht cruising the islands. Relax on deck, enjoy lunch with the best vantage and if you get too warm, simply jump into the crystal blue ocean. Back on land this afternoon, head up to Chora’s 400-year-old hilltop church, watching as the sun sets gently into the sea.

Day 5

Begin the day by private boat to Paros, an island known for its beautiful beaches and rural villages. From vivid nightlife and natural footpaths to pristine beaches perfect for water sports—it has a little something for everyone. Settle in and then explore the fishing village of Naoussa, with its beautiful blue bay and white-washed buildings, and cap off the evening dining at a local eatery.

Day 6

Head off to Antiparos by bike, taking in the town’s vibrant beaches and golden-green landscapes. The prize at the end of this ride is a simple beach-house lunch. Stroll through town on cobblestone streets before ending the day with a visit to a local farm. Do some cooking before diving into your own farm-fresh dishes, finally heading back to Paros for the night.

Day 7

Awaken your muscles and mind with a morning yoga session on the beach. Then, it’s off to hike down part of the Byzantine road, the oldest road in Paros. Pass rugged mountainsides, pristine beaches and villages painted white and blue along the way. Refuel with a picnic at the beach and some well-deserved swimming and relaxation.

The motto at our Folegandros retreat is harmony, luxury, simplicity. Just a few minutes walk from Karavostasi beach with an infinity pool and sea views, it’s the perfect space for soaking up the sun.

Overlook the Aegean Sea and reset your mind, body and soul with a connection to the island and its unique geology and structure. A pristine private beach and stunning views make it a sunrise for your soul.

Paros

Mimicking the traditional white-washed architecture of Paros, we’ll stay in a luxurious imitation of everything that makes the Greek Islands beautiful. Located between stunning Kolympithres beach and the jewel town of Naoussa, wake up with the sun and gaze at the sea from your window.

Santorini

Santoroni is an iconic island gem, with whitewashed houses clinging to its famous volcanic cliffs—few places on Earth are more photogenic. We’ll have expansive views over the sea to the distant horizon, and we'll never want to leave.

  1. How many people is this itinerary suitable for?

    Our private itineraries are ideal for groups of four or more—you and friends, families, and multi-generational groups. For groups of six or more, an optional Modern Adventure local guide can be arranged.

  2. Can you curate an itinerary for a larger group?

    Yes, we can help you craft an unforgettable milestone celebration, for groups as large as 50 or more.

  3. What makes a MO/AD experience different?

    Our level of curation and care. We handle everything, overseeing your experience from beginning to end, with the highest levels of ownership and responsibility. We also support you each step of the way, with comprehensive trip materials and itineraries, detailed day-by-day options, insider destination info, and 24/7 dedicated support.

  4. How far in advance should I plan my trip?

    Preferably three to six months in advance. We stay in unique, in-demand boutique and luxury hotels where advance reservations are important to secure the best accommodations possible.

  5. What is typically included?

    We curate your Modern Adventure to ensure the experiences are authentic and immersive, and included in your trip price. This includes all accommodations, local transport, private travel for all day trips and excursions, internal flights as appropriate, airport transfers, private tours with local guides and cultural experts, exclusive VIP access and activities, all breakfasts and some lunches and dinners.

  6. How much will it cost?

    Private Modern Adventures typically cost $750 to $1,500 per person, per day, and vary by time of year, the number of people in your group, types of activities (private local guides, private helicopter transfers), and the level of accommodations you prefer. 

  7. What's not included?

    MO/AD Private Departures do not include roundtrip airfare to/from your destination, travel insurance, transportation to your trip’s starting point, hotel incidentals (including room service, laundry service and hotel bar tabs), and any activities or meals not included in your confirmed MO/AD itinerary.

  8. What deposits are required?

    After learning more about you, your interests and preferred style of travel, as well as your preferred travel dates, we will present you with a detailed itinerary including activities, internal flights, transport and accommodations. In order to check and confirm hotel availability for your group, there is a $750 non-refundable deposit due. This will be applied to your final trip cost. 

    Your trip is guaranteed—and your dates secured—with a 25% non-refundable deposit. Many of our local partners, including our hotel and resort partners, require advance deposits to secure the best accommodations. The balance of your trip is due 30 days prior to travel.

  9. What travel documents are needed?

    US citizens are not required to have a visa for stays in Greece of less than 90 days. Just bring a valid US passport. For citizens of other countries, we’ll confirm documentation requirements with the appropriate Greek embassy or consulate once your itinerary is confirmed.
