3 Reasons to Travel with Nyesha Arrington
You may have seen Nyesha pop up on your TV screen as a contestant on Top Chef, Knife Fight and Iron Chef America, or on her new show Next Level Chef with Gordon Ramsey. She started cooking professionally at age 17 and has yet to take off her apron. Her insatiable curiosity has taken her from her hometown of Los Angeles to Las Vegas, Hawaii to the Virgin Islands and Hong Kong. She loves to discover commonalities across cultures and can’t wait to immerse herself in the flavors of Oaxaca.

Comfort Foodie
L.A. born and raised, Nyesha has that calm, cool SoCal vibe. She’s authentically herself with a warmth that radiates in her smile and her cooking. After all, she wants her food to “hug you from the inside.”
Mind of an Artist
Nyesha comes from a family of creatives. Her father was a musician and screenwriter, her mother a seamstress. As a child she sculpted, painted and practiced martial arts. Nyesha credits her martial arts training with teaching her the mindset and discipline to be a chef.
Fusion of Joy
Growing up in a mixed black and Korean household, Nyesha learned to love both kimchi and gumbo from an early age. Her grandmother introduced her to cooking at age four, and she’s been experimenting with flavors ever since.
Your Experience

“For everything bad, there's mezcal—and for everything good, as well.”
Oaxaca City, Monte Albán

“The artistry of cooking is about evoking what you want people to experience and how you want them to feel.”
I loved eating goat just after it was lifted from the pit, sipping on a mezcal.
This is more than just a trip. It’s authentic and joyful, and a powerful reminder of why we travel.
The meals made for us in local homes were just heavenly.

El Callejón
Oaxaca CityOff a central side street, a few blocks from the zocalo and central shops and eateries, a street gate opens into a breathtaking oasis that’s our Oaxaca City home: a boutique hotel with a dozen spacious rooms blending the city’s distinctive styles. Serenity reigns in its thoughtful garden spaces, with palm trees, covered walkways and an outdoor patio bar.

We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance. Travel insurance allows you to seek reimbursement for your trip costs; if your trip plans change for unforeseeable reasons, or if you need to get medical help, emergency transport, and for theft, loss or damage of items while traveling. For best coverage, always insure the full trip cost within two weeks of your initial trip deposit and note that most ‘Cancel For Any Reason’ policies must be purchased on the date of your initial deposit.
-
What is the cancellation policy?
You may cancel 120 days or more before departure and receive a full refund minus a $1500 per person service fee ($500 of which may be retained as a future travel credit, valid for one year after cancellation). If you cancel on or after 119 days in advance, there is a 50% cancellation fee. On or after 59 days in advance, there is a 100% cancellation fee. See our full terms and conditions for details.
