The flavors linger like an Italian aria. You’ve just tasted a perfectly crafted glass of Chianti in its birthplace. As you look out over an expanse of centuries-old vineyards, the sun dips behind the fabled hills of Tuscany and streams a symphony of color over the valley — and it suddenly hits you. The simple ingredients, the methodical preparation, the exact harmony — it’s one long love letter to Italy, a place rooted in the philosophy of Slow Food that feels like nowhere else in Europe. You’ll soon be eating freshly foraged truffles and a dessert topped with hazelnuts harvested from just down the road. You take another sip and whisper a salute to slowing down, to the stories that emerge with every course, to every small moment of this unforgettable experience.
Traveling with us are Angie Rito and Scott Tacinelli, the husband-and-wife duo and culinary icons behind Michelin-star gem Don Angie in New York City. From picturesque Tuscan vineyards to humble trattorias in Siena, Angie and Scott have invited us to a part of Italy near and dear to their heart – they married in Florence in 2015. This is their second modern adventure, and we can’t wait to travel with these incredible humans again.
If you like your food and culture layered over thousands of years of history, this trip is for you. From the buzz of Florence’s markets to the serene Tuscan countryside, we’ll explore the most iconic corners of Italy from every angle, tasting everything as we go.
