Best of Lisbon, Douro Valley, Porto
A golden glow shines over the Douro Valley, where centuries of agricultural tradition come alive amid ancient olive groves and terraced vineyards. You’ve arrived here on a wooden rabelo boat accompanied by local folk musicians, and now you’re walking through the storybook landscape of one of the most beautiful places on Earth. You’ll soon settle in for siesta at your breathtaking 17th-century manor and this evening, you’ll reconvene for a hands-on organic feast. The sweeping views from the patio beckon you back outside to breathe in the beauty of this valley, where you offer a saúde (cheers) to fellow travelers and celebrate the moment with a deliberate sip of wine grown just steps away from your perch among the stars.
Joining us on this modern adventure is Caroline Glover, a Food & Wine Best Chef and 2022 James Beard winner whose restaurant, Annette, has shown up on Denver’s Top 25 list for five consecutive years. Her scratch-to-table philosophy—where every ingredient comes straight from the source—is the perfect approach to visiting a community-focused place like Portugal. Caroline and our guests will meet the winemakers of the Douro Valley, the chefs and producers, the makers of ceramics, textiles, and so much more.
If you want to venture into iconic Portugal, and do it with exclusive access, this is the trip for you. Meet acclaimed local winemakers and artists. Eat the best street foods, and at top regional kitchens. Catch a sunset while sipping a world-class wine. Mouthwatering flavors and soaring scenery—this is our Portugal.

3 Reasons to Travel with Caroline Glover
Caroline is the first to credit her local farmers and growers for every dish at her beloved “scratch-to-table” establishment, Annette. Pair that humility with an impressive resume—from the Culinary Institute of America to New York City’s Spotted Pig—and you'll see why she's been recognized from likes of Food and Wine, Bon Appétit, and why she won the James Beard Award for Best Chef (Mountain Region) in 2022.
Scratch to Table
Adamant about sourcing local and sustainable ingredients, Caroline tries to make all her recipes from regional "scratch." This approach has earned her recognition as a best new chef by Food & Wine, a spot in Bon Appétit’s “50 Best Restaurants in America,” and Eater Denver’s Restaurant of the Year.
The Life Aquatic
Caroline's Portugal is rooted in many things, but the first among equals? The seafood. She's been dreaming of beautiful shops filled floor-to-ceiling with tinned fish cans, and of gorgeous coastlines for freshly caught fare.
Food as a Love Language
Caroline wants anyone who dines with her to feel at home. When you sit down for a meal, she has three simple requests: “Sit. Drink and eat. Be my guest.” She creates space for people to share food and stories they’ll never forget.

Do I need Travel Insurance?
We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance. Travel insurance allows you to seek reimbursement for your trip costs; if your trip plans change for unforeseeable reasons, or if you need to get medical help, emergency transport, and for theft, loss or damage of items while traveling. For best coverage, always insure the full trip cost within two weeks of your initial trip deposit and note that most ‘Cancel For Any Reason’ policies must be purchased on the date of your initial deposit.
What is the cancellation policy?
You may cancel on or before June 17, 2023 and receive a full refund minus a $500 per-person service fee. If you cancel on or after June 18, 2023 there is a 50% cancellation fee. On or after August 16, 2023 there is a 100% cancellation fee. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance as we are not able to make exceptions to this policy in cases of family/medical emergency or cases of the trip being canceled (see our Terms and Conditions for full details). Please note that for guests who are transferring trips or traveling on rescheduled trip dates, your cancelation terms will vary from the above, and are generally non-refundable. Please refer to your correspondence from our Customer Experience team for specific details.
