You’re navigating a labyrinth of medieval souks as the call to prayer echoes out from ancient mosques. Spices and sizzling kebabs perfume the air. You’re in Marrakech, emerging at dusk into the buzzing heart of the city, Djemaa el Fna, as the vast square fills with soothsayers and snake charmers, musicians and acrobats. Shouts from merchants and food sellers compete for your attention. The experience is chaos, it’s commotion—and it’s incredible, plucked from time and swirling with color and flavor. This is the Morocco you’ve always dreamed of.
Along with you is Akasha Richmond, a yogi-turned-chef whose philosophy on cooking with ethical, sustainable and local produce drew Hollywood’s elite to her long before health food was trendy. Her farm-fresh mantra is at the root of her acclaimed Los Angeles restaurant, AKASHA. Her success comes from a genuine love of travel and food, inspired by her travels through North Africa, Italy, India, Mexico—wherever her curious spirit takes her. We can’t wait to experience her Morocco, one she knows and loves: vibrant markets, incredible flavors and rich cultural traditions.
If your idea of the perfect adventure involves slowing down and experiencing a place deeply—and if you love really good food—this trip is for you. Learn the meaning and tradition behind every bite, at bustling souks and markets, at hands-on workshops with local chefs and artisans. Experience Morocco at its most timeless and delicious with Chef Akasha Richmond.

3 Reasons to Travel with Akasha Richmond
Akasha Richmond has a love of travel that you can taste in every bite at her namesake restaurant, AKASHA. The acclaimed Los Angeles-based chef has been doing 'sustainable' and 'ethical' long before it became part of LA's culinary zeitgeist. Akasha's name means “intangible spirit” and she's as comfortable cooking up North African as she is Italian or Indian. We can’t wait to see what inspires her taste buds in Morocco.

Star Power
Before opening her award-winning restaurant, Akasha traveled the world as the personal chef of celebrities including Michael Jackson. From finding tortillas in Tokyo to a crafting a potluck Thanksgiving dinner in Australia with the entire band, she’s got stories to tell!
Fresh As F****
You’ll never find a commercially grown vegetable or fruit on Akasha’s menu. With the first bite of any dish, you taste the freshness and flavor and reality of what 'locally sourced' truly means. You’ll never see (or taste) a carrot the same way again.
Spice of Life
Akasha is in her element when she's traveling. From hiking the Himalayas on a yoga journey, to searching local markets in Morocco with her daughter, Akasha loves to travel. It's what she loves most next to food, and the passion shows up in everything she does.

Where We Sleep

Serene kasbahs and traditional riads—our Moroccan accommodations are treat, heal and inspire you
La Maison Arabe
MarrakechLuxuriate in this palatial riad, a traditional stately home centered around a lush courtyard just steps from the medina. It's the epitome of elegance, offering traditional Moroccan craftsmanship, a world-class restaurant and hammam spa. But we won’t blame you if you spend all your time lounging by the swimming pool beneath the swaying palm fronds.

Kasbah Bab Ourikah
Atlas MountainsKasbahs are former fortresses built with high walls—which for us means sweeping views over Ourika Valley farmland and the serene foothills. The sunsets and stargazing here are spectacular. Wander the gardens, relax on your private terrace or in the infinity pool. Our kasbah experience is stylish and nurturing, a peaceful mountain escape with all the modern comforts.

Palais Amani
FesA traditional, opulent riad in the center of Fes with all the comforts of a modern stay. The family-run property puts an emphasis on local, working exclusively with a close community of artisans and craftspeople. With its palatial gardens, rooftop deck and traditional hammam spa, it is the definitive Fes getaway.
