Why Santa Fe

It’s no wonder why photographers, painters and sculptors—from Georgia O’Keeffe to Ansel Adams—have been drawn here for decades. Santa Fe is endless inspiration. It’s another world—an artist’s world. The city’s influential meld of culture, from Native American to Mexican to Spanish, defines Santa Fe as a beacon of culture, tradition and, perhaps most of all, art.

ONLY WITH MO/AD

Santa Fe is an icon of artistic influence unlike any other place in the U.S. Get exclusive access to outstanding private collections, and explore the art scene in and around the city. Meet local and indigenous artists, and venture outside the city to experience the deep-rooted culture and mesmerizing beauty of the landscapes.

Your Private Experience

Who It’s For

Our Santa Fe retreat for lovers of food, culture and, of course, art. Great for a long weekend getaway or a week-long adventure across New Mexico.

When to Travel

September through November is our favorite time to visit. Note that Albuquerque’s annual Hot Air Balloon Fiesta draws significant numbers in October and reservations can get challenging.

Make It Yours

Go deeper in indigenous craft and culture, more art, more fine dining, or a mix of everything. Our Santa Fe retreat can be crafted to suit your group's interests.

Possibilities

MO/AD Retreats in Santa Fe focus on art, and the many opportunities to delve deeper into history and indigenous culture. Here are our some of our recommendations:

Day 1

Welcome to the Southwest! Flights arrive into the airport in Albuquerque; spend a day or two here, or transfer directly to Santa Fe. You’ll celebrate the region’s mix of Spanish and Mexican influence at tonight’s dinner, Coyote Café, a restaurant lauded locally and nationally for its pioneering use of regional ingredients. It’s the truest welcome to the Southwest.

  • Private transfer from Albuquerque to Santa Fe
  • Group welcome dinner

Days 2 - 3

Immerse yourself and your group in Santa Fe’s unparalleled art scene. From a private tour through the renowned SITE museum, to a meet-and-greet with an indigenous artist at Pojoaque Pueblo, you’ll gain an intimate understanding of how Santa Fe’s artist eye was formed. After a sopaipilla lunch, it’s off to a private home collection — one of the finest in the region of Native American art.

  • Private SITE museum visit
  • Visit with local artists at Pojoaque Pueblo
  • Private home collection visit

Day 4 - 5

Explore beyond Santa Fe with a first stop at Taos Pueblo, where a local tribe member will lead your group through a thousand years of indigenous history and art. After a photo op at the Rio Grande Gorge, head over to Chimayo to meet a community of Native American weavers and see their vibrant works. Dinner’s back in Santa Fe at one of our local favorites.

  • Private tour of Taos Pueblo
  • Stop at Rio Grande Gorge and its High Bridge
  • Visit Chimayo weavers village
