Your Private Experience

Who It’s For

For the romantics and wine-lovers, our Burgundy retreat is made for those who’ve always dreamed of going deeper into French culture and countryside.

When to Travel

May, September and October have temperate weather, fewer tourists and are optimal times for grape harvests. June thru September have the warmest weather and are busier.

Make It Yours

More exclusive tastings, behind-the-scenes experiences and exquisite cuisine? We can make sure to fit in everything you and your group need. Additionally, plan some extra time in Paris.

Possibilities

Our MO/AD Retreat in Burgundy features tastings at exclusive wineries, cultural immersion, meals by acclaimed local chefs, truffle hunting, and taking it all in by hot-air balloon. Here are some of our favorite moments:

Day 1

Bienvenue to Burgundy! Tour centuries-old local markets followed by lunch on the terrace at Château de Gilly, the former residence of 14th-century monks and a superb stop for an elevated lunch paired with wines. After lunch, visit and taste at Côte de Nuits and explore Clos de Vougeot, a 12th-century chateau majestically situated in the country’s largest walled vineyard.

Day 2

Dedicate today to Burgundy’s countryside. Cruise e-bikes between rows of grapevines, stopping to taste wines at a few hand-selected chateaux, and ending with a luxurious countryside picnic. Then, visit the 15th-century cellars at Hospices de Beaune (Hôtel-Dieu), a Gothic hospital-turned museum. End the day with a tour and intimate, private dinner at Château de la Crée.

Head by foot into hazel, hornbeam and black pine forests to root out the most special of funguses: the black truffle. Digging in the soft soil this morning – with enthusiastic truffle-hunting dogs in tow – inspires plenty of laughter and connection to nature. After a lunch of fungi-inspired delights, return to Beaune to taste the rich Burgundy flavors of six emblematic wines at Maison Jadot, and get a private visit their barrel-filled cellars, Beaune’s most ancient.
