Plate after gorgeous plate of dishes you never imagined are served in procession. Whether it’s today’s tikka masala with beans and plantains in the design district or yesterday’s corn and mushroom quesadilla picnic beyond the Xochimilco canals, every sumptuous bite is a microcosm of Mexico City itself. It reminds you of this morning’s studio tour with groundbreaking artists—their work both an ode to history and a tribute to the melting of pot cultures who propel the zeitgeist today. It’s been like this all week; every little moment—from bartering with an artisan at the Coyoacan market to sitting quietly with a centuries-old Zapotecan wall painting—were not even moments at all. They were lessons in slowing down, in bearing witness, of embracing the dazzling bustle of one of the most enchanting cities on Earth.
Joining you is Mexico City-raised and James Beard Best Chef finalist, Ana Castro. The force behind the New Orleans hotspot, Lengua Madre, Ana is famous (like Food & Wine Best Chef famous) for elevating the flavors of her childhood into culinary works of art. She also has her finger on the pulse of Mexico City’s design resurgence, and we just can’t wait to travel beside her.
No matter how much you know about Mexico City’s mesmerizing culture and food, this journey will teach, delight—and leave you hungry for more. Wander colorful markets, taste incredible street food and ancient Aztec ingredients, then wash it all down with the finest artisanal mezcal. This is Mexico like you’ve never imagined.

3 Reasons to Travel with Ana Castro
A true traveler at heart, Ana has been around the world and back again, always with her apron packed and her knife roll at the ready. She's honed her culinary chops in France, India and New York City before settling down in New Orleans to open Lengua Madre—her ode to heritage Mexican cuisine heralded by the likes of Food & Wine, Bon Appetit and the New York Times.

Family Affairs
Holiday meals were epic events at Ana's house in Mexico City. Alongside her grandmother, she'd cook a feast for the senses, embracing both the chaos and the communion of the season
All in the Matriarchy
Ana was raised by women and attributes her audacity and joy to days spent around the dinner table with the women of her family, telling stories and forming unbreakable bonds.
The Fab Five
Ana's New Orleans hotspot Lengua Madre is an ode to her childhood in Mexico City. Every experience is a thematic deep dive into an always-evolving, five-course tasting menu.

Do I need Travel Insurance?
We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance. Travel insurance allows you to seek reimbursement for your trip costs; if your trip plans change for unforeseeable reasons, or if you need to get medical help, emergency transport, and for theft, loss or damage of items while traveling. For best coverage, always insure the full trip cost within two weeks of your initial trip deposit and note that most ‘Cancel For Any Reason’ policies must be purchased on the date of your initial deposit.
-
What is the cancellation policy?
You may cancel on or before August 15, 2024, and receive a full refund minus a $500 per-person service fee. If you cancel on or after August 16, 2024, there is a 50% cancellation fee. On or after October 14, 2024 there is a 100% cancellation fee. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance as we are not able to make exceptions to this policy in cases of family/medical emergency or cases of the trip being canceled (see our Terms and Conditions for full details).
